1080 Ti and i7-7820X processor running at 3.60GHz – brand new build, limited frame rates
Hello. I just purchased a new PC and it’s been quite pleasant so far. I’ve only started playing CSGO with around 160-200 FPS, which is much lower than what I expect. My previous machine performed better. My friend with a 1060 model achieves 400-500 FPS, and adjusting launch settings seems to boost performance. I think I could reach ultra-high settings on this setup. With a 1440p 27-inch display, should it be possible? G-sync isn’t enabled. The monitor is a Dell SG2716D, 144Hz, 1ms refresh rate. Here are my details: Intel Core i7-7820X, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, ROG STRIX X299-E, gaming RAM 32GB, DDR4, NVMe SSD, Samsung SSD, Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-bit).
No, I did not make the system switch from integrated graphics to your GPU.
What graphics option fits? That would be an i7 7820X... wow. Make sure you hit FPS max at 999 on the console, though keep in mind CS:GO relies on Source, an engine from 2003 that struggles with modern features like mesh used in the X299. This affects overall performance. Ring Bus improves latency, giving more frames and better core utilization from the software. You might hit around 300fps no matter what settings you use, since it isn’t a gaming-focused CPU. An i7 7820X wasn’t built for gaming—it wasn’t designed with that in mind.
Don't worry, you're not alone—many people are curious about x series. It's a line of AMD products, known for their performance and features.
The settings I have set remain unchanged despite the high FPS numbers shown. In the menu I see 900+ frames per second, even though it’s not just gaming. As a film editor, I require multiple cores, but benchmarks suggest performance should be comparable for an i7-8700k.
People say unlock frames, and I’ve had no issues with my i7-7820x. I enjoy playing on Ultra and rarely do toaster games. Sure, the graphics card is important—I own a GTX 1080—but the 7820x works just fine.
