Do you believe the custom PCB layouts featuring the 1080 design, which enhance power connections, could enable greater voltage delivery and thus higher clock speeds, or do you think this is merely a superficial improvement with limited impact?

The GTX 1080 cards with connectors beyond the standard 8-pin are built to deliver greater current at +12 volts for OC requirements... not higher voltage levels. The voltage management is handled by the card's VRM and the power supply unit. The system must maintain a consistent 12 volts. However, during heavy OC loads, a voltage drop might occur, which can be resolved by adding additional wiring.
