You're evaluating a 32GB upgrade path using your existing Asus Z490-E board. The Viper Steel 32 Kit (16x2) offers a budget-friendly option, but its 19-19-19-43 timings might pose compatibility challenges. While it supports up to 3600MHz with XMP enabled, this could affect stability or performance. Consider whether the speed and reliability trade-offs align with your needs before deciding. Let me know if you'd like further guidance!
It's better to target 3200C16 since it's practically the same in latency. If 3600C16 isn't available, I'd go for a 3200C16 model from a reputable brand with strong RMA support or good binning options like Crucial or Gskill.
We appreciate your feedback! Would you like to evaluate the Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz C16 compared to other models? The price gap of just $80 between 16-18-18-38 timings is worth considering.
I stick to familiar brands, mainly Corsair or G.Skill. My G.Skill 3600 model runs at 16-19-19-39. I've only tried 3200 RAM with Corsair at 19-23-23-45 and G.Skill at 16-18-18-38. The tests used an i7 8086k/2080 Ti and any variation stayed within the acceptable range in games and benchmarks. My suggestion is to find reviews for the RAM you plan to purchase. During my recent I9 10900kf build, I chose 3600 but switched to 4000 for $60 more. I'm curious how much of a difference there really is, especially since I accidentally used the 3600 in a loaned home setup that's coming back soon.
