I'm facing some issues with my thermal readings on this new rig. I just switched to a board with a 10600k, but my temps keep rising and the system gets noisy. I usually run every fan at about 80% to keep things around 38-40°C at idle. This setup uses a top-mounted H100i v2 (33.5°C idle) in a push-pull configuration with Corsair fans. My room is quiet, cleaned, and I cleaned the Corsair 540 after installing the new board. Ambient temperature is 25°C, and my sensors show 34-44°C at idle. During a stress test with AVX2, I hit around 87°C under load, averaging about 82°C, dropping to 74°C. I once had a 4.8k but experienced crashes. These readings feel off compared to my previous build with the same cooler and fan setup but a 6700k. What do you think?

It seems okay as long as it stays under 100°C. The extra heat comes from faster clocks and more transistors, making it a significantly stronger CPU compared to the 6700K.

Which motherboard are you using? Some models require excessive voltage. Begin by launching HWiNFO to check the VCore reading. A reading around 1.15V is usually sufficient for stable operation at 4600 MHz. In most cases, the voltage tends to be significantly higher than this, leading to unnecessary power use and heat generation.

XTU displays the VID voltage. This differs from core voltage. Consider applying a -50 mV to -100 mV adjustment in the BIOS settings.

XTU ranks among the least resilient under pressure, surpassing even the A64 in ease of failure. At its price point, it seems unrealistic to push for 80c+ given the improvements in the tenth-gen components. Have you considered swapping out your cooler?

@Mister Woof I replaced the cooler again, everything seemed fine overall with just a tiny bit of paste near the edge but nothing major. I even adjusted the head to release any trapped air (though that was probably a stretch). Just need confirmation though—I had the max boost at 4.7, not 4.6. The thermal readings stayed consistent during the stress test. @unclewebb Bios shows 1.2v. I haven’t tested the offset in bios yet.
