Hey! I'm searching for an affordable motherboard that works well with the 10400f. I think temperatures should be okay on any board with this CPU, though I might buy something used later with an 8-core chip. The most budget-friendly options are from Asrock, but I know their Z490 boards have bad VRMs and there aren't many reviews for B460 or B560 models. Any suggestions would be great, Michael!

Looking for the best deal on a b560-hdv, it should cost near $75 USD. If it's more than that, the b560-pro 4 model would be around $100 or higher. They offer quicker memory options, which is great for gaming. Not every Asrock z490 has great VRM performance, but most do. Their B460 and B560 models aren't significantly different, though VRM quality is lower on HDV and Pro4. With a 10,400 MHz clock speed, you shouldn't run into problems.

I found this ASUS Global board for the B560M-A and it seems perfect for my needs. Since I’m new to its VRM, I’ll keep it simple now. I plan to upgrade later, so I want to confirm it supports higher power CPUs.

It works well with an i5, but the cost is $110. The Aorus model offers better performance for an i7 at $120, which is just $10 more. You can still upgrade later with the Aorus.

You don’t have to use a specialized beast VRM for the 10400f. Any compatible power supply will work fine.

The Gigabyte board will restrict RAM speed for the i5, resulting in reduced performance. It’s more advantageous to use a 500 series chipset instead.

This is indeed a significant error.
