It seems the CPU cooler height fits within the 160mm range, and the Arctic cooler measures 158.8mm. However, I’d still want to verify after applying the thermal paste. Do you have sufficient thermal paste on hand? It’s cheaper than purchasing a new cooler.

It looks like the linked product isn’t available at the moment. The DUO version appears to be a viable alternative. I’ve applied the stock thermal paste included with the cooler, and reviews suggest it performs well. Given the recent build, there’s no indication of significant degradation.

Duo is slightly pricier, but I’d still suggest it compared to another well-known model from Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO. As noted before, verify there’s sufficient fresh thermal paste between your current IHS and the cooler. Also, it seems you replaced the old paste with new, which is good—just make sure the inbox cooler isn’t significantly better overall.

I didn’t make that mistake. I just placed an order for thermal paste and plan to buy the cooler next. There’s no risk from using the computer without changing the paste.

If you leave the paste unchanged and reinsert the old material, it can create air gaps that affect heat transfer and result in the problems you're experiencing.

The sole concern appears to be the elevated temperatures you've mentioned.

It's true, I experienced those temperatures earlier when the cooler wasn't installed correctly. I'm going to put fresh thermal paste on it right away and won't worry too much about the computer.

I faced the same issue on my PC too, with corrupted files in Windows 10. I tried all options, even reinstalling Windows, but the CPU stayed busy at high temperatures and throttled. After switching to Windows 11, the problem disappeared if you're already using it. If you're still on Windows 11, try reverting back to Windows 10 and check if it resolves the issue. You can also use CMD commands like "sfc /scannow" to fix minor problems. If that doesn't work, consider upgrading to Windows 11 or downgrading to Windows 10. I have a similar processor as you mentioned, and while the F model is considered affordable, it can still be fixed.

Hello everyone. I refreshed the old unit and reapplied the thermal paste. Even though temperatures are lower now, it still stays around 50°C. Unfortunately, when I tried using Powermax again, it jumped back to a 100°C case open. I’m not sure if I can run the PC without replacing the cooler, even though this one hasn’t caused any issues so far. Should I just switch to a new cooler? I’ve also experienced high temps during gaming on R6 Siege, reaching up to 95°C.
