Zen 5 3D V-Cache could be a strong long-term strategy for AMD.
Zen 5 3D V-Cache could be a strong long-term strategy for AMD.
It's a fresh architecture requiring updated compiler configurations. Performance improvements in games don<|pad|> can still be attributed to other factors. CPU architecture isn't tied to the socket type. TR and Epyc share the same architecture as your consumer Ryzen processors despite differing sockets. This new architecture offers significant benefits for data centers and servers, where it's driving substantial gains. Similar strategies are being adopted by NVIDIA, shifting consumer focus toward broader business revenue streams.
TechPowerUp conducted a test without SMT and observed improved frame rates.
it's basically a 10-15% ipc gain, and if i'm gonna run the chip at 150w either way then "stock" doesn't really matter. AMD either dropped the ball on marketing or is doing this on purpose, given that it's amd i'm leaning toward the former. Even if zen 5 was a homerun gamers would still be waiting for the 3D version. It's a weird problem for amd.
ONLY if you think gaming is the only thing that matters. Gaming is not actually the majority of PCs. 10% at same power is a massive improvement with CPUs. as per above. Its not that they arent clock speed limited, they are, its just that they are constrained with the heat transfer. they cant clock higher because of the heat. There is also no reason not to push power when there is no reason to not push power. Power is limited by some sort of constraint, not artificially because it feels right. huh? HUH? Please dont hurt yourself pulling stuff out of your ass that hard. was zen 1/2/3 all the same architecture?
