I’m unsure if choosing an 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X or a Ryzen 5 5600X is better. The modern Ryzen 5 still performs well for streaming and gaming. Higher IPC in newer chips could boost gaming performance.

The Zen 3 CPU is still under development, making an exact assessment difficult. It may improve single-core performance, but the extent of that gain isn't clear. For streaming with CPU encoding, the added single-core speed should compensate for the loss of four threads compared to the 5600X.
