Hello! I'm looking for a motherboard compatible with LGA 1700 that can handle 4x4x4x4 bifurcation. I was hoping to ask a PC component expert via ChatGPT, but they mentioned the Taichi Z790 supports this feature. However, I want to verify if that's accurate. On Asrock's site, they say the motherboard supports 5.0 8x8 and x4 PCIe3 lanes, but not 4x4x4x4. They also note it doesn't support 128GB DDR5 in four slots. My search focuses on a board with 128GB DDR5 and a Hyper M.2 Gen4 slot, but not specifically for 4x4x4x4. I'm considering an X144 PCIe line board for fast storage, since I need lots of SSD space for my sound software, music libraries, and databases. The Z790 is being suggested because I can't afford a high-end motherboard with a lot of RAM and storage right now, and I want a solid SSD setup. My current PC uses a Seagate Exos HDD, which isn't fast enough for smooth performance with heavy plugins like Omnisphere, Kontakt, and Nexus. I also don’t have a stable WiFi connection, so I’m avoiding extra costs. I need a reliable system for running demanding audio projects without crashes or slowdowns. If you have any advice or references, I’d really appreciate it!

Have you thought about using an Add-In Card? Options like Aorus Gen4 AIC or Asus Hyper M.2 x16 match your setup, just connect the GPU into the second x16 port. You don’t need to install it in the top slot. This avoids searching for a high-end motherboard that won’t work.
