Hello. I’d love to hear your thoughts on which board is superior between the MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI and the Z790 AERO G (rev. 1.0). Both are priced similarly, and you’re considering them for an Intel i7 13700K setup. Which one do you prefer in terms of software support?

Unless you have specific needs, consider boards with essential capabilities. Cheaper options often lack the features you require. Investing more in a motherboard only adds value if those features are necessary. Overclocking is less practical nowadays. What features truly matter for your setup?

I suggest exploring options that simplify clock speed adjustments without requiring extensive modifications. Right now, your setup works well with ROG AI Suite for this purpose. If you're okay with standard performance, consider alternatives that offer similar ease of use.

I don't believe OC adjustments matter much unless you're not doing them often. Today's CPUs are already optimized, so the benefits are minimal. I’d skip MSI boards since their help is very poor.

MSI and Gigabyte often struggle with their OS software tools, though I’d also mention AI Suite (for tuning on ROG boards, consider Turbo VCore). XTU remains a solid option if you only need to adjust clocks in Windows instead of relying on MSI or Gigabyte’s programs. In reality, they offer XOC versions that can be found on certain forums. MSI provides Dragon Power, which works well but has had reliability issues, while Gigabyte’s GTL XP edition is also decent but tailored for XOC boards and may not fit other models below. Ultimately, it depends on your priorities. I’d lean toward the Gigabyte board mainly because of its BIOS design, though personal preference plays a big role.

I’m choosing the aero g since it includes a USB Gen 2x2 header on the front panel and a Thunderbolt connector for future add-on cards.
