The BIOS flashing or updating does not cancel the warranty. It’s been done before, just like updating an operating system or iOS on a phone. DDR4 and DDR5 are distinct hardware types, so changing one doesn’t void the protection. Connecting other components is still possible. The last four models from ASUS, Gigabyte, and MSI all offer this option, and I’ve used it several times in practice. For DDR5 boards, using memory kits from the Qualified Vendor List ensures reliability. You can find details here: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z69...ort-memsup
Just a quick note, the PC was built and everything worked smoothly. The BIOS came out with versions F7 or F8—probably one of the newer ones. I chose to leave XMP disabled and avoided enabling it just to prevent any issues right now. I might consider turning it on later. Thanks for all your support! 😊
Don't be scared, just be aware!! You could set XMP enabled, and just manually set 5200mhz (to start with) and I'd bet it'll be perfectly stable. You want to run this system with the memory frequency as high as you can get it. Since you have 6000mhz memory, it will have absolutely no issues running a lower frequency. I'd aim for 5700-5800mhz and test stability, but start low first 5200mhz. It'll be ok, I promise. If not, you can always set system to defaults again. No big deal!
Yes, I'm in agreement, turn on XMP. As noted by @Guest 5150, you can activate XMP and adjust the DRAM speed yourself—don't rely solely on the frequency set in the XMP profile. If issues persist, revert to the standard settings or disable XMP completely.
Hey, you're overthinking things. Worrying about issues is normal, but you don't have to fix everything at home. I used Corsair 5600mhz DDR5 in my Z690—it wasn’t a big deal. Sometimes you just need to update the BIOS for everything to work smoothly. My ASUS board had some USB C and power delivery problems until I fixed the BIOS. Don't mix "flashing" with updating; the latter won’t cancel your warranty. Just get the official update from the manufacturer. Build it out, enjoy!
