Unclear why I didn't ask earlier. Could it be that the BIOS disabled the WiFi? It's possible you're downloading a driver, but the device won't work because it's turned off in BIOS.

Save the package instead of launching it. Afterward, move the extracted contents to another folder. Avoid opening any executable files directly from the archive in File Explorer, as this creates a temporary copy that disappears once the window is closed.
