They've been using 8-pin + 4-pin and 8-pin only connectors on top-end boards for about ten years now. My current Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master has two 8-pin CPU power connectors. 10th Gen CPUs draw a lot of power, particularly when overclocking, and the i9-10900K with its 10 cores really needs it. You won't need the extra 4-pin for the i5-10600K or i7-10700K. The 8-pin already supports up to 384W for the CPU—far short of what you get with an i5 or i7 on AIR or LIQUID cooling.
