You're checking for RAM options before considering a motherboard upgrade. The 4000MHz Crucial stick you mentioned is popular, but it's not listed among the supported RAM options for the boards you're evaluating. It's worth noting that other Crucial RAM at similar speeds and timings is available, though you should weigh the cost difference. Your processor is an i7-10700, so ensure the RAM matches its specifications. Consider alternatives if the price difference feels too high.
I have a friend who’s testing two models here: https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix...B083VMZPJ8. He’s using a Z490-E with a 10600k chipset. Right out of the box, he ran it at 4x8GB RAM at 1.35V, XMP enabled, and everything else auto. He doesn’t realize his 10600k sample has a solid IMC rating, even though his real CPU maxes around 4.7GHz. It’s tough for manufacturers to test every single die, and Crucial dims are pretty consistent across their lineup since they all use similar IC designs (micron is behind this).
