Z390 supports 8+4 CPU connectors.
You're facing a compatibility challenge. The Z390 Aorus Ultra uses an 8+4 CPU power connector, while your PSU only supports an 8-pin. Without the 4-pin header, some components might not work properly. It's best to check if your motherboard supports alternative power delivery or consider upgrading your PSU.
The 8-pin EPS already delivers 384W, making the 4-pin option unnecessary since the CPU in the 1151 socket won’t consume more power (unless you’re using extreme overclocking like LN2). You don’t need to worry about the additional 4-pin EPS.
To achieve full connectivity, the 8-pin end splits into two 4-pin sections, allowing you to run a second cable while using only half of it. However, most people would prefer having just one 8-pin connector for an LGA1151 CPU. Still, I’m opting for both ends on my rig since they’re available on the board.
