Hi guys.
Are the new z270 mobos suitable for non-K Skylake CPUs too? I'm getting a new mobo and checking if they're better for that setup.

Be mindful when selecting a Z270 with a 6-series CPU. Not every model comes pre-installed with a Skylake and may need a 7-series chip to boot and update the BIOS for compatibility. Some recently produced Z270s include the updated BIOS revision that supports Skylake. I don't have the exact details.

I haven't come across any Z270 mobos being used with Skylake without modifications. I wouldn't suggest opting for non-KC models, but if you're set, a Z170 would be a better choice, even though it's not certain. Which CPU are you thinking of getting?
