CPU model: Ryzen 7 7700 GPU: 7900GRE OS: Windows 11 24H2 The issue appears to drop frames in Chromium browsers when not in fullscreen, especially on higher resolutions like 1440p and above. After uninstalling and reinstalling the GPU driver with DDU, the problem returned upon restart. A workaround was discovered via AMD External Events Utility—disabling a rogue service resolved it temporarily—but this caused unstable performance in games, often dropping frames unless multiple alt-tabs were used. Overall, the situation remains unclear and frustrating.

Have you checked if YouTube drops frames in Firefox on other modern browsers? If it does, you might prefer using Firefox for YouTube while keeping Chrome for the rest of your tasks.

It functions well in Firefox. This seems like the path I'll take if I can't locate a fix. I usually prefer Brave, since everything is built on Chromium, and I didn’t realize the problem doesn’t happen without hardware acceleration enabled (meaning CPU handles video decoding). I might try that as an alternative if I can’t find a solution.
