You're concerned about potential performance issues since you're using a weaker Intel processor alongside your new GPU. It's worth checking your system's overall compatibility and ensuring your components work well together. Let me know if you'd like advice on testing or upgrading!

It will slow things down, the CPU will limit your performance before the RX 6600 XT even starts working. Essentially, any card available right now will be hindered by your outdated processor. Instead of only buying low-quality graphics cards, you should consider upgrading your entire setup. So again: How much are you willing to invest in a better PC?

This question checks whether your old CPU could slow down a newer GPU, and the response confirms it will. It suggests upgrading the CPU to resolve the issue.

The issue seems to be they likely need a new motherboard and RAM. I’m not too concerned about CPUs since they’re so affordable these days; what matters most is upgradability. That’s why I usually choose AMD—my last Intel was a Pentium 1, and the brand doesn’t really matter to me.

Used Ryzen components can be found for around 150 USD on the secondhand market. The power supply might also need updating. Trying to match an older CPU with a newer GPU is unlikely to be worthwhile—it wastes your investment.
