No, not really. Particularly if it's your primary setup. Upgrading your hardware would be better—your 4th gen Intel CPU would fit in a museum display in the Palaeontology section. Modern AMD and Intel CPUs run at 4.6GHz stock with a 5GHz boost. DDR4 works well at 3600MHz, while DDR5 starts around 4.8GHz. You’ll definitely see the improvement compared to your older DDR3 system.

Hey there! If you're using this regularly, maybe think about moving back a bit from that OC and investing in a fresh setup—just to be safe, your GPU might still be the only thing left from the old one.

Thanks! The PSU is quite fresh, I swapped it out about three months ago because of the noises. It’s a 650W EVGA 80 Bronze model.

For your setup, even a Ryzen 4100 outperforms your processor in most tasks. Moving up to a 4500 boosts performance by half, while a 5700X3D easily surpasses a 4th generation Intel chip. Don’t forget AM5 advancements. If upgrading isn’t possible, consider lowering the clock speed and voltage instead of pushing them higher.

Looking for an AM4 board suitable for overclocking? A decent B550 works fine for normal speeds. For stock performance and PBO, consider a robust VRM design without a dedicated heatsink.
