Hey everyone,
I searched the internet for fixes but didn’t find anything. I’m using the newest Windows 11 version, and I installed it from a flash drive instead of the regular update. Still, my programs think I’m on Windows 10 and can’t install anything because they say the system is outdated or that this version doesn’t work. It’s been happening for months, and I’m not willing to wait any longer. Can someone assist me with this problem?

Specifically, which applications are needed? Which Win 11 version is required? From where can this be obtained? Can you provide any screencaps of this?

Programs created prior to Windows 11 lack understanding of the version number provided by Windows 11 when checking for compatibility. This is why compatibility mode exists.

Haha, sorry but I just updated Windows and performed a disk check before the update. I ran DISM to restore health and used sfc, doing everything possible to fix Windows. Even though it wasn't working before, everything seems to have fixed now. My apps are updating again—especially the ones I use like Spotify, Mullvad VPN, and music production VST plugins. Windows is acting strange again, but I thought a clean install was necessary. I don’t know how or why it worked suddenly, but thanks for trying to help!

In certain contexts, win 11 seems to function similarly to win 10. The 23H2 build number stands at 10.0.22631.

but in practice apps identify the installed win by its build numbers
