The choice hinges on the specific Core i9 model you're using. A 10900(K) should fit by default, while a 11900(K) needs a BIOS update, though I wouldn't recommend either option for this board. I'd prefer i5 or i7 processors. Do you already have a CPU installed? If yes, leave it as is—it's not worth replacing the socket. If not, upgrading to AM5 or LGA 1700 might be more sensible now that prices are lower and used parts are cheaper.

This setup works well together. If you upgrade your CPU, I’d recommend getting a new board as well.
