Hey everyone, I think something’s going wrong here! I’m sorry for the lengthy explanation. It was a weekend with a friend, so I moved my PC to set up LAN play. The problem started when I brought it back in—my PC began looping through boot states. First, I reset the CMOS. Then I tried the GPU without the vertical mount and placed it in the lower slot; it worked. Next, I checked with another GPU, but it didn’t boot at all except the RAM lit up. I figured the top slot was likely damaged. I looked into a replacement motherboard and realized prices have gone up. So I decided to upgrade my CPU and RAM instead. I bought an Intel 12900K and MSI MPG Z690, and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2 DDR5. I built the PC eagerly before trying to boot it again. The result? Only the RAM lights up. No power at all. I swapped the PSU, cables, and even changed the RAM. Still nothing. I’m stuck—any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Start the system using only the motherboard, CPU, and RAM. Skip the GPU and any boot media. Also, attempt to run without any RAM to check for errors.
I reduced it to just the CPU, cooler, RAM, and boot drive. I’ll test without the drive. It’s hard to think an NVMe is behind these problems.
It feels strange to experience the same problem with two boards at once. It might be worth double-checking if the older board is truly defective.
