I recently purchased a rebuilt machine and now want to enhance it. I have the budget, but I'm uncertain about the best starting point. What suggestions do you have? Which graphics cards and RAM would be suitable? My current specs are: Intel Core i7-8700 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics, and an 8 GB DDR4 memory. You can find more details here: the link provided. Thanks!
I’d choose a NVIDIA GTX 1660TI or higher. For memory, 16GB at 3000MHz would cost roughly $400.
I intended to secure a replacement outside the existing budget constraints!
The 5700XT, an additional 8GB of RAM, and a 550W Rosewill capstone would comfortably fit within the budget.
The specifications indicate a 300W PSU for the model with the 1050. A more powerful PSU is required. Power Supply needs to be 500W or higher if you're replacing the graphics card. The model only has two RAM dimming slots, so you should upgrade from 2x4GB to 2x8GB. There is no SSD included, so you'll need an M.2 SATA SSD or a standard SATA SSD. Storage capacity should exceed 120GB. You'll need a fresh Windows installation for this setup. A suitable graphics card would be the GTX 1660 Super, possibly an RTX 2060 Super or Radeon RX 5700.
