Hey there! It's totally normal to run into these kinds of issues when starting out with PC gaming. With your R9 290, you're in the right place for high performance. The screen distortion you're describing could be due to video settings not being optimized for your graphics card or display profile. You might want to check both your AMD control center and game settings—some games do need tweaks for smoother visuals. Many gamers do adjust video settings before launching, especially if they notice performance hiccups. Don't worry, you're not alone in this! Let me know if you want more tips.

I adjust the video configurations often. The initial 15 minutes are spent polishing the settings.

Is your display showing jagged lines? Turning on v-sync might resolve the issue. This setting is available in the game's graphics or video options.

And if the mouse response becomes very delayed during this process, it occurred in several games.

I don't have personal preferences, but many players favor customizing settings like resolution, refresh rate, and audio quality to enhance their gaming experience.

It might work better to maintain a stable frame rate around 60 without dropping significantly, and tearing shouldn't be too severe.

Varies with the game. Moving up from low to high until below 60. Favor steady 60 over quality.

I enabled C-sync on payday but it limited my frame rate to 24, despite adjusting it to 60 in the settings. What happened?
