my EK XE 360 rad came today, I noticed the paint was still wet and fresh. I acquired another RES, the one with the ek multioption 250 basic edition, which has some minor cracks and I’m worried about its condition. The other RES I got is the phobya 250 matte black—it’s a bit worn and has stains inside. http://imgur.com/a/LR91p I might have to discard the EK one; the phobya version seems to have good reviews and a solid build, but I need to remove the stains. Should I soak it in warm soapy water for an hour?
wow, never seen a resin with all those micro cracks, no blame me for skipping it.
yes, you can try warm soapy water—just make sure it's not too hot.
sometimes the stains won't come off, which is why I really like my glass reservoirs—they don’t stain like acrylic does.
it will be done, i put the new res in soapy luke warm water for a few hours, but it didn’t help. however, it’s good to know that when there’s liquid inside the res, the stains disappear. today i removed one of the drive bay hubs since i plan to place the pump in its spot, hiding it at the bottom. the strange part about my pump is that it has 5 speed levels, allowing pressure adjustment from high to low. apparently, i only have a cpu block, so i’ll keep it at 3. i also need to drill a small hole in my case to attach the res holder bracket. fingers crossed.
last night i ordered these items and i’m planning to start building soon.
i) 8 X EK ACF Fitting 13/19mm Nickel
ii) 2 x PrimoChill PrimoFlex Soft Tubing 19.1 / 12.7 mm - Onyx Black 3m
iii) 1 x Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut
i ordered the nickel colored fittings because i thought they would match with my soft shiny black tubing... thanks a bunch for your help.
