I've been using Windows 7 ever since it was released, tried Windows 8 but it didn’t work well, so I went back to 7. I’ve dualbooted my reliable Windows 7 with the Windows 10 development version and it seems impossible to avoid having a password. What’s going on? My computer is just a basic machine with many cables, not something easy to steal. I’m frustrated because I can’t boot my PC and go downstairs, make food, and come back to a fully loaded desktop. Is there any way to completely remove the password in Windows 10? If not, I’ll stick with Windows 7 until a better option appears.

I’m the same, I dislike using passwords on Windows. It’s better to just press the power button and let the SSD handle everything quickly, so it’s always ready at your desk in seconds.

In Windows 8 you can configure auto-login using netplwiz, test it from the Run bar

Could be a BETA issue or another problem.

You can simply enter the password blanc and proceed directly to the desktop.

Windows 8/8.1 might block passwords via local accounts, but you have to select the user—though that feels a bit cumbersome.

I'm using Windows 10 in the latest beta version and don't require a password. It seems the switch from a Microsoft account to a local account might have caused this change. If it doesn't work, let me know so I can check your settings. Please be sure my setup boots directly to the desktop without any restrictions on my end.

When I first started using Windows 10, it became the biggest hassle ever! How safe should a system really be? I just enjoy playing games there.
