I checked local deals and found great options. A Ryzen 5 5600G was on sale for $200 in November. I also spotted a Gigabyte B550 ATX board with a bundle discount to $102, plus 32GB of Ballistix 3200mhz RAM for $95. With your microcenter card's 5% discount, the total comes to $378. I paired it with an EVGA RX 3060 Ti XC and it performed excellently. For Intel, the I5 11400 is available for $160 or $152 after discounts. Newegg has a combo deal for $135 plus a rebate, totaling around $287 with similar performance. Microcenter now offers extended returns, but I’m not sure if taking it apart is the best idea.
I checked the comparison and they do seem quite alike. (Confirm if that's right) You're right about the approach, but you should think about the time required and whether it's worth the $100. Your effort matters too.
the intel setup is slightly faster, but if everything you have on-hand already works, then don't bother switching, worst thing that can happen is if you switch and something doesn't work. There are imperfections in every build and the one you made is a minor one.
I'm not sure if I'd label it as an issue. It seems more about timing, possibly a bit quicker, and that doesn't seem like a major problem.
