I attempted XFR/PBO but noticed the Cinebench R20 scores are lower than expected. I also checked Forza Horizon 4 just to compare clock speeds, which didn’t show a big difference. Here are the Cinebench R20 core results: PBO achieved 2894 with a stock score of 3020-3038. The OC reached 3138 at 4.1 GHz. Temperatures stayed in the 70s, and the clock speed remained similar to stock, which is unusual even at 60s. Regarding power consumption, it seems the board isn’t hitting its limits, leaving room for improvement. This is my first time using PBO, so I’m unsure if the issue lies with the motherboard or something else I overlooked. My setup includes: CPU – Ryzen 5 2600X, Cooler – NH-U9S, Motherboard – Gigabyte Aorus B450, RAM – Geil Evo Potenza OC’d to 3200MHz, GPU – GTX 980 Ti, PSU – Corsair CX 650M. Thanks for your feedback.

Push it hard at the heart rate with a full system clock—I have no idea how quickly they operate. I’d aim for 4200MHz and adjust from there if needed.

I can only modify the PPT, but no significant improvement was observed. It seems the motherboard might be restricting performance. Edit: I plan to use Ryzen Master to investigate further.

I give up. I can manually boost my speed to 4.1GHz and achieve better results, but PBO underperforms compared to the original. Disappointing. Perhaps I’ll attempt it again later if any new BIOS updates address this issue. Thanks to everyone!

It seems you're checking your BIOS compatibility and missing features. You're currently on F41 and noticed some options are absent. You're wondering which BIOS version would restore those features unless you're confident about the latest release.

Zen+ usually likes a bit more voltage on certain boards. I used negative offset, a mild LLC circuit, and higher PBO with unlocked limits to keep voltage steady. This gave me consistent results better than the default settings. However, my 2700X handled 4.0 all-core and 4.3 single-core with PBO well, though power usage was extremely high at around 180W. I didn’t do manual OC because I preferred the higher single-core boost speeds over uniform lower speeds across cores. I wish AMD had a more Intel-like tuning method like my 4th gen i7, where you can adjust clocks for each core type instead of forcing all cores to run at the same speed. That would have been much more flexible. In the end, I turned off PBO and ran it at base clock at 90W since extra heat wasn’t a big issue.

Try a negative 50mV offset, a middle LLC configuration, and observe the results. Remove the voltage offset and adjust the LLC to maintain stable voltage until instability or performance drops. Gradually increase the PBO scalar until heat becomes problematic or you feel uncomfortable with voltage fluctuations. I reached a comfort zone around 1.43-1.45 for core stability, noticing intermittent peaks up to 1.5 volts during rapid single-core speed changes. Set an 80°C throttle threshold or whatever PBO refers to. Focus on refining memory clocks and timings once your PBO settings are consistent. I managed to reach 3400MHz without excessively stressing the SOC, and I usually keep my hardware in good condition for extended use. I turned off PBO because I wanted to reduce idle power consumption, as the system spends most of its idle time mining with no games or activities that benefited from PBO—playing games would barely make a difference.

It isn't listed in my BIOS, especially not in version F41. I can handle the simple overclocking tasks, but I can't affect PBO settings—it just turns on without making much difference. This board is budget-friendly, so I won’t push it beyond a quick test or score. It’s just for curiosity; as someone who works with cars, I enjoy experimenting and seeing how things behave.
