I recently bought a laptop and plan to play GTA V occasionally. I encountered an unusual issue where the game saves graphics settings and save states in my Documents folder, which I need to share across all my PCs for work purposes. After installing the game, it immediately replaced my long gaming progress with the first prologue autosave and swapped my custom graphics options for the laptop's standard 1600x900 resolution. GTA V doesn't offer any way to save data elsewhere besides Documents, and I can't exclude its files from OneDrive sync. While I could rename the files in OneDrive instead of merging them, the game wouldn't recognize them afterward. Storing games in Documents seems like a poor solution, and I'm not the first to face this problem. How might this be resolved? Thanks. P.S. I've reached out to Rockstar support for weeks without receiving a response.

To the best of my knowledge, there’s no solution other than adding a fake link in the directory GTA uses to point to another place on your device.

Another user might find it helpful to use Junction from SysInternals Suite. It allows redirecting folders in Documents to another location. You can generate a simple batch file that sets up this redirection and then starts the game. For local testing, run a different batch file that removes the redirect and restores it to your desired folder. To create a junction point, use junction.exe with the directory and target parameters. To remove it, execute junction.exe -d with the directory name.

I believed you could omit certain folders in OneDrive? You can generate a symlink using the Cmd Prompt with the mklink command.

You have the ability, though OneDrive frequently displays warning messages about mismatched files between local and cloud versions. Even when the cloud version isn't expected to be present. I appreciate you checking out the solutions they suggested.
