Hey, I'm trying to decide between AMD and Intel for my new workstation with a gaming setup. I need Thunderbolt 3 support and have found compatible boards for each chipset. The AMD board is pricier, but I'm curious about the cost difference compared to the ASRock X570 you mentioned. Could someone clarify what the price difference is between the ASRock X570 and the Z390 model?

typically increased io ports or improved io ports, varied or enhanced headers, wifi, bluetooth, rgb, shielded connections, overclocking protection measures, everything varies

PCIe 4.0 and direct CPU-to-NVMe SSD connections are possible, though you'd need a costly SSD and specialized software to detect improvements. In terms of performance, nothing beats a 3950X, and gaming lags only slightly behind the 9900K. If your income comes from the PC, AMD might be worth considering. Creaton is currently the top choice for TB3 builds.

Without using either board, the ASRock model offers 10G Ethernet, improved power regulators, and newer features like PCIe 4.0, additional USB 3.2 ports, Bluetooth 5, and 802.11ax. Because of licensing restrictions, AMD models with Thunderbolt capabilities usually come at a higher price. Still, the ASRock version appears to be overpriced.

Includes support for a 12-16 core CPU with VRMs, and potentially unbuffered ECC memory (consult the manufacturer’s manual for details).

Avoid direct comparisons between platforms; focus on CPU choices and capabilities first.

I noticed the initial ask included a price for the x70 motherboard. I checked to confirm it wasn’t from a suspicious seller or an out-of-stock shop. The search helped verify the details. Also, the board features a 10G LAN controller, which adds about $100 to its cost.

BTW, should I go with TB3 or Type C?
