I'm a complete newcomer to gaming builds. I'm upgrading to 32GB and checking the RAM is labeled:
Corsair CM
Y
32GX3M4A1600C9 Vengeance Pro 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop 1.5V, Black
The Asustek website says
Corsair CM
Z
32GX3M4A1600C9 is compatible.
Does the single letter exclude that RAM completely??
THANKS!!!

The Z indicates the vengeance series. The Y stands for Vengeance Pro. If you're not using different sets, the QVL should function as it's only a memory that was tested, not all memory is manufactured for testing.

Thank you very much. I'm purchasing 4-8GB sticks for a complete upgrade. I know RAM has changed significantly since DRR1. Appreciate your confirmation!
