Hello, I'm new to building and trying to set up a solid budget PC for streaming and gaming. My current specs include a 1660 Super GPU, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and an MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard. The main challenge is deciding which RAM to purchase, as my budget caps at around £80-£90. All the listed components are similar in price locally, so I'm weighing options. I have Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz 2x8GB, Crucial Ballistix RGB 3200MHz 2x8GB, and HyperX Fury 3200MHz 2x8GB (also RGB available). I’m not too concerned about the RGB but would like it if possible. Could you advise on compatibility between my Crucial and HyperX models? Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks!
They mentioned the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC has a maximum RAM speed of around 3466MHz, so you should avoid damaging anything by staying within that limit.
everything will hold up. in the ideal situation it should function perfectly. the worst outcome is you might need to increase RAM usage to 3466 instead of 3600, which is still preferable to 3200. overall it tends to work fine.
Ram operates differently than expected—it's just the standard "supported" performance. I'm using 3600 MHz RAM on that motherboard and it's working fine.
