You're looking for advice—your son is considering a gaming PC over a PS5 or PS6?
Dear THers,
With your assistance I managed to assemble a PC nearly ten years ago and it continues to function well.
Current System:
Processor:
Intel® Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz 2.70 GHz
Motherboard:
Intel
DB85FL - 4th Gen
RAM: Installed RAM
Corsair 12.0 GB
GPU:
Zotac GeForce GT 1030 2GB GDDR5 64-bit
I typically play Cricket 23, Simulators but my boys (13 & 8) plan to tackle more demanding titles such as - FIFA 24, Minecraft, GTA5. He will be introduced to more games once I equip him with a gaming PC he desires.
Could you share an optimal setup for the same? Should I upgrade the existing one or construct a new one?
Budget: Rs.75,000 to Rs.1,00,000 including gaming chair, new keyboard mouse etc
Thank you in advance.
Regards
When browsing Flipkart, it appears to showcase items similar to the previous generation technology, still functional yet improved. Various models are listed, including a Flipkart PC, Lian Li LANCOOL 215 Mid Tower Cabinet, Crucial SSDs, NVIDIA graphics cards, ADATA memory modules, AMD processors, a high-power PSU, and an ASRock motherboard. The overall setup seems to be around ₹95 to ₹100 thousand, though it lacks emphasis on peripherals or accessories. It suggests that Amazon.in might offer more variety for your needs.
You can verify details by visiting the AMD website at the provided link.
Under "Connectivity",
The Ryzen 5600 is compatible with PCIe 4, whereas the 5600G (which has integrated graphics) only works with PCIe 3. Verify you are viewing the right processor.
Having a board with PCIe 4 isn't crucial, a CPU with only PCIe 3 might limit you slightly, but swapping CPUs later could give you more power. I don’t think PCIe 3 really holds you back for gaming now, so by then you might already be at a new system anyway.
