You're facing some boot problems with the Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3V. Let's troubleshoot together!
Hi everyone, I’m reaching out for your support. I found this PC with the Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3V, featuring an Intel i5-4460 processor and the latest BIOS. Recently, I’ve encountered some problems. Currently, I can only install PCI-e cards besides the graphics card. I’m running a Palit GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. I’m unsure if it’s the new PCIe cards or the motherboard that’s causing the trouble. The board seems fine—just hasn’t been reinstalled or removed.
When I restart, it boots normally. But when I shut it down and turn it back on, it powers up quickly, then restarts itself empty. After a few reboots, it displays the Gigabyte Dual Bios UEFI screen, but only shows the label “Gigabyte Dual Bios.” It cycles through loading defaults, optimal defaults, and then enters BIOS again. Eventually, it restarts until the screen returns to the default settings, but nothing changes in BIOS after a reset. I’ve tried resetting everything to defaults or customizing them, but nothing persists.
The PC has been running for nearly two days now without any restarts. It’s been used to clone an HDD from another system that had an NVME SSD failure. Until then, it only booted from SATA SSDs. I’m not on a budget for a replacement board, and I’d really appreciate any advice or help you can provide. Thanks in advance!
