Where should we begin? The configuration is listed below. Intel Core i9 13900k – standard boost only, no overclocking. Asus TUF 4080 – minor GPU tweak enabled. Asus TUF GAM Z790-PLUS WF D4 Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB (3600MT/s). Four 16GB drives installed. Seasonic Focus GX-750W (approximately four years old). Samsung 990 Pro 2TB (recently purchased and installed, two days ago, with a fresh Windows setup). Samsung 980 Pro 2TB WD Black 1TB. This might be a lengthy explanation. To start, I’ve encountered problems about two to three weeks ago. The first issue was Chrome – pages would freeze due to "STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION." Shortly after, Discord would crash to the desktop without any error message and then restart. This happened repeatedly until it stopped responding. Recently, I faced BSODs and game crashes. I’ve always run Windows as administrator. I’ve executed "sfc /scannow" several times, which usually fixed the problem. I’ve performed a clean install of Windows. During that process, I ran into a few BSODs while reinstalling, prompting me to replace my SSD and format all drives. I also tested the boot drive in various motherboard slots without success. After a fresh Windows install, I ran Furmark to verify my GPU performance – everything worked perfectly. Temperatures stay normal, CPU stays under 80°C during intensive tasks. RAM tests with Memtest86 showed no issues. I’m struggling to figure out what’s causing these issues. Any suggestions would be invaluable since I’m running out of options. *EDIT* Discord functions correctly when a game is open and streaming, but it closes instantly if I’m idle at the desktop.
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to instructions since Windows doesn't allow file manipulation there.
I believe there are known firmware issues with both the 990 and 980 models. Did you verify if a recent firmware update was applied to these SSDs? It's always wise to update the firmware first before use. The 990 is relatively new, so I'm uncertain if Samsung has released a fix through a newer firmware version. What does Samsung Magician say about these drives? Are there any bad blocks or CRC errors reported? Have you performed a scan with them?
Certain challenges may point fingers at random drivers and processes, making debugging from a single dump file unreliable. This case points to the Nvidia driver.
Yeah I don't know. I'm at a loss here. I kinda wanna think its my PSU either going bad or not enough. I've taken two of my sticks of RAM out and its been running "okay" but like now one of the ram sticks isn't lit up anymore. Been happening pretty frequently. I am using ICUE. I did just upgrade to a G915 and G502x on the 9th. There has been the "logi-lamparray-driver" issue in my event viewer since I started using these. It almost HAS to be hardware since these things are still happening even after a clean install of windows.
