Hello! I recently purchased an i7 4790k to improve my streaming quality. My current setup looks like this:
- Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 3
- CPU: i7 4790k
- RAM: 2x Kingston Xyper x 4GB 1600Mhz
- GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 960
- Storage: 500GB NVMe NCQ Seogate 7200rpm
- Power Supply: Intertech PSU 700W
- Internet speed: 1mbps (slow)

OBS settings I’m using:

The issue is that my friend’s connection only provides 1mbps download speed, making him a great tester. He reports lag and loading delays. How can I resolve this? Any suggestions?

Screenshot formatting & video windows issues. It might be your friend using too much bandwidth for other tasks.

I made changes and now there are those links. What did you mean by "too much bandwidth"? I had started Minecraft (for streaming), used OBS and Skype...

with a 1Mbps connection he can't stream any content without encoders (like Twitch partner) or at a very low bitrate.

They might be lagging due to slow download speeds. Increase your bit rate to 3500 and lower the frame rate to 30 fps. This should boost overall performance, even if smoothness isn't as high. Each frame will have more detail, though not the buttery smoothness you're used to.

I would suggest the opposite. A bitrate of 3500 is too high for just 720p streaming. Lowering it to 2800 can improve quality.

OP doesn't need to drop the bit rate because most people have the download to stream it and the OP has the bandwidth to upload it. No reason not to.
