I'm not sure where to begin, but I feel overwhelmed about what to try next. The good news is I was planning a second build for my son after finishing mine, so all the testing components I receive can be used in his build once I resolve this issue. My first attempt used the Supermicro C9Z390-CG-IW Mini ITX LGA1151 board, which I got used to before. It functioned fine with the BIOS update, though I was a bit hesitant about a few settings and didn't install OS in UEFI. After a week of research, I updated the BIOS and it worked perfectly. Then I tried loading optimized defaults, but it failed again. I've contacted the manufacturer several times, trying different configurations of their SuperRom recovery tools, but nothing has worked—my system won’t boot past the LGA LED. Eventually, I purchased an ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming-ITX/AC Mini ITX LGA1151 board, which is also pre-owned and hard to find. At first, the CPU fans didn't spin, so I rebuilt everything. The fans eventually started, but the motherboard would cut power and restart every 30 seconds. My next step is to buy another CPU in the hope it works better.
