Hey, I see what's happening. After installing your SSD and disconnecting the old HDD, Windows should recognize it. You're seeing a boot menu with EFI 2.31, but you can't enter BIOS. Try these steps:

1. Press the power button for a few seconds to see if it powers up normally.
2. If not, try pressing the power button and holding the **F8** key (or the appropriate key depending on your PC) during startup. This usually opens the BIOS/UEFI settings.
3. Make sure you're in the correct mode—look for options like "Boot" or "Device Manager."
4. If you still can't access BIOS, try resetting it by holding **Del** during startup (this clears BIOS settings).

If you're still stuck, let me know what BIOS option appears and I can guide you further! You're not alone—this can be tricky. 😊

Transfer the SSD to another SATA port on your motherboard, ideally SATA1 (check your manual if unsure). If that doesn’t work, reset the CMOS (follow your manual’s steps) and avoid enabling Windows 8 features.

the visible CMOS toggle or jumper on every motherboard is why I recommend checking the manual

I located it, but I’m unsure about the steps to activate it.

the clear CMOS switch on the rear I/O near the PS2 and 2 USB ports causes shutdown. remove the power cord, hold the tiny button for about ten seconds, then reconnect and restart. in the image you shared, the small black button is located to the left of the optical out port.
