Your USB sound cuts out during games on Windows 10 or 11.
After switching to Windows 11, USB sound issues and freezing started happening. Every half hour or so while browsing the internet, it freezes for a couple of seconds when playing games. Sometimes the game closes on its own or just pops up and goes away. I tried rolling back to Windows 10 without saving my files, but nothing was highlighted by the program that tracks USB connections. Then I turned off all my USB ports one by one to see if it was a glitch. After updating the BIOS to the latest version, I went to Intel's website and downloaded and installed driver programs there. I also updated drivers for my video card completely and updated Windows. When checking if the video card caused the problem, I replaced it with an RX 6700 GRE instead of an RTX 3060. Here are my components: i5-10400F, B560M motherboard, Mortar RAM, an RX 6700 GRE graphics card, a 650W power supply from MSI, and I don't know what else to say because I'm stuck here, please help!
Welcome to this forum! The BIOS has been updated to the newest version. Are you running an old BIOS? Did you clear your CMOS before confirming the new BIOS worked correctly? If you're rolling back to Windows 10, try reinstalling with or without saving files. I believe you upgraded to Windows 11 using internal updates. In that case, please reinstall Windows 11 by creating a bootable USB drive from your Media Creation Tools. First, install the operating system in offline mode, then connect to the internet and manually update all drivers for your computer after right-clicking on the installer and selecting "Run as Administrator." Once you've finished installing all necessary drivers, feel free to go online and run an automatic OS update.
I cleaned my CMOS chip way back before I even put on Windows. The BIOS is from 2023 and seems like it hasn't been upgraded much. First I tried reinstalling Windows 11 by saving files in settings. Then I rolled it back to Windows 10 and finally reinstalled Windows 10 from a flash drive, even before installing the OS I wiped the disk clean. Nothing worked then, so I went back through the settings to try resetting the CMOS again, but nothing changed either.
