Hello, I own an HP Pavilion 16 Gaming laptop. It comes with a 10th Gen i5 10300h, GTX 1650, 4 GB RAM, 16 GB DDR4, 256 GB SSD M.2 1TB, and BIOS F.23. The device is only a year old. After upgrading to Windows 11, it began heating up more than usual following a Windows BIOS update. I cleaned everything thoroughly and replaced the CPU and GPU with new thermal pads, using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. It now idles around 38-40°C. I performed a one-minute stress test and it instantly hit 99°C for both thermal throttle and power limit. During normal tasks it stays between 75-83°C, but when gaming it reaches about 85°C and frequently throttles. I applied the paste and pads three times, yet the fans only activate after significant throttling. This situation is new, especially with Windows 11 and the BIOS update, and even after resetting to Windows 10 and a fresh install, the problem persists. Edited September 4, 2022 by snowman110011

Intel evaluates this CPU at 100C during maximum demand. A video on a comparable configuration showed GPU set to performance mode producing comparable heat output. This is likely typical, though you may not have observed it earlier.

Not hardly. Possibly you have a bunch of dust or something clogging up the intake for the fans.

I believe turning off the performance mode would help. You might also want to use a cooling laptop pad.
