You're using an i7-10700 on a MSI B460M Pro board. Performance varies depending on workload—idle temps sit between 45-48, gaming spikes to 50-55 and 60, sometimes briefly hitting 60. At higher loads like in Premiere Pro or RT Overdrive in Cyberpunk 2077, temps climb to around 75-80°C. Your 6700XT stays near 80°C, while your CPU stays in the 68-70°C range. The main concern comes from upscaling videos in Topaz; at one point it hit 95 and throttled. You have a basic setup with two 80Mb fans and a 120Mb side fan plus a 120Mb front fan. You're wondering if adding another fan would help. Your PC specs look solid, but cooling is key for sustained performance.

It's a tight budget situation, that's why I managed to fit a 240mn radiator. I didn't consider liquid cooling at first.

It seems the CPU is running very hot despite the cooler case and closed front panel. The side vent is doing its job well. Everything looks normal—no major changes needed. Your 6700xt could benefit from better airflow since it's quite warm, but the case design is still adequate.

Will make little progress but you can. There aren't enough intake vents, so take off the front panel to get better airflow.

Surprisingly, you're achieving temps under 90°C with Freezer 7x, which is unusual. I suspect your motherboard is configured for a 65W TDP on the base model. At maximum load, the cooler should struggle to handle the 10700's power draw, as it can exceed 150W.

I'm also puzzled, having the CPU for nearly a year now. It's confusing why I don't get power-limited in games most of the time, even though there are some spikes. I'd like to keep the case on for now—maybe add another front fan or check if the front panel can be removed, as Jason suggested earlier.

Your 6700XT offers better efficiency because it uses less CPU driver load than many Nvidia or Intel cards, giving the CPU more capacity to handle the game within its power limits. When using PL1 and PL2 at default settings, the CPU can run at full speed for about a minute before being throttled down to 65W. This rule mainly applies when the CPU is under full load. If the game pushes the CPU to 85W instead of 150W, it stays in that higher state longer and more often. Since games vary in how much they tax the CPU, performance can dip below 65W temporarily, effectively resetting the allowed power window. The main goal of PL1/PL2 is to support fluctuating workloads by letting you run with less powerful cooling and voltage regulators, still delivering decent results for everyday use—gaming being one of the toughest but also the most variable tasks. Noticeable drops only appear with the most demanding titles, especially if you push for a high frame rate that forces the CPU into the higher power setting, which is challenging with this setup at normal configurations.
