CPU model: i7-6700 RAM capacity: 2x8GB Brand: HyperX Speedfactory MOBO Model: MSI B250 PC MATE Power Supply: SilentiumPC VERO L3 700W I own a 1060 3GB, 1060 6GB and an RTX 2060 Super. Previously, the 1060 6GB worked fine without issues, but recently I acquired an RTX 2060 Super. All components functioned on my brother's system. Once the 2060 Super arrived, the machine started up and booted to Windows, yet animations became unstable (possibly due to GPU or display adapter issues). During driver installation, the screen would freeze completely. I've tried several fixes: reinstalling drivers via DDU, updating BIOS from MSI, running memory tests, checking RAM stability, replacing the CPU and inspecting pins, verifying PSU compatibility, reinstalling Windows, resetting CMOS, inspecting the PCI-E slot, and even swapping monitor or cable. Despite these steps, the problem persists. I'm feeling frustrated and unsure what else might be causing this. Any suggestions? Thanks, P4wlos222.

Consider setting up HWInfo or GPU-Z, then launch a demanding graphic task (like a game or Furmark) to see if the card engages. If it does, this likely points to a driver issue since other cards use the PCIe slot and the 2060S functions on your brother's system. You might also search for graphic drivers in the Windows Device Manager.

GPU-Z provides limited details; it indicates the 2060S operates at 0Mhz.

Check if updating drivers resolved the issue. The links 3, 4, and 5 might provide further assistance.

The unusual behavior is that the system remains functional despite the black screen. I verified this using Chrome Remote Desktop. The main display driver installation appears to fail, leaving the PC accessible via remote, even though the GPU-Z reports zero core speed. Regarding HDMI connections without installed drivers, it seems to bypass the usual driver requirements, acting as a workaround.
