Hi everyone, I just purchased a WD 2TB slave drive and after a month it’s behaving oddly. It keeps making that strange "pshww" sound, disconnects briefly, and opens File Explorer with the path displayed. Any suggestions on what might be causing this? Both drives are formatted under NTFS. My system specs: Ryzen 7 2700, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSDs, 450W GPU.
It seems there could be a weak SATA power connection or a problem with the drive's controller board. On a side note, some users here might have opinions about the drive's name. Back in the past, this term was widely used for various drive platforms—just a quick thought to prevent unnecessary tension and lengthy discussions. I’d suggest hiding the name in the screenshot and using alternatives like "Primary," "Aux 1," or "Aux 2." Edited September 16, 2022 by An0maly_76 Revised, more info
