I purchased a 27' 144hz Asus monitor a few months ago, and it has functioned flawlessly. Recently, while rearranging my desk, I placed my laptop on the left side of the screen without direct contact. It hasn’t been used much—temperatures stay below 50-60°C. A mark appeared, possibly from heat or a stain, which didn’t fade even after cleaning. It’s visible only when the monitor is off. I’m concerned about its long-term impact and wonder if moving the laptop away would help.

Set the laptop aside and switch to the monitor. Feel the area to see if it feels warm or hot. If so, the issue likely comes from the monitor’s internal components.

I've used it. It doesn't heat up much. I'm still trying to figure out why. The picture doesn't show it clearly, but the edge area looks a bit darker there. Also, the corners near the edges seem a little deeper than the rest.
