One half of my CPU appears significantly dimmer than the other side. After wiping it down with isopropyl alcohol, it still seems as though there’s something stuck there. Are you concerned about potential overheating issues?

Everything is under control. Do you have 99% isopropyl alcohol?

You may only need a few additional passes using a dry paper towel for a pristine finish. If you're simply applying thermal paste to the cooler's back, that's sufficient.

It seems there might be an issue with the IHS. Let me know how I can assist further.

A small amount of ISO on a magic eraser should likely restore it to new condition, though it may also remove some screenings. Don’t be concerned unless temperatures are high—it should still be okay. Make sure you’re using a reliable cooler.

If this applies, I'd skip it. Make sure your CPU warranty is in mind. AMD insists on no harm to the IHS and perfect character visibility.
