I'm experiencing unexpectedly high temperatures with my new CPU, which is quite unusual. After installing a cooler in 2014 and using it properly, I expected stable performance. Now, even with correct setup—removed tape, proper fit, thermal paste, and torque—I'm seeing rapid heating up to 70-80°C during stress tests. I received four 120mm fans, one exhaust, one for the CPU cooler and two for the front. I recall tossing tape on the heatsink and being a track cyclist, which means I tend to over-tighten things. I’m sure everything is snug. How can I tweak the fan curve? Also, the heatsink seems warm but not hot.
Take FanControl from GitHub to modify fan curves for all your fans. Consider running at 100% load just for the CPU cooler; if temperatures remain high, inspect the mounting. It's possible the heatsink isn't making good contact with the CPU or has uneven pressure.
While playing but mainly editing, I earned a Titan XP boost, but gaming or editing only gives me 70-75°C. I'm concerned since this is my first experience with a new cooler, even though I've previously worked with stock AMD and Intel ones.
