Hello, I just upgraded my motherboard and CPU from i5 9400f to r5 5600. I kept the old RAM which were 2*8*2666MB. When installing everything, my new RAM didn’t work in dual channel mode. Someone suggested it might be because my motherboard only has two RAM slots, which matches my specs: RTX 2060 Super, ASUS Prime B450 KII Seasonic Sii 620, and R5 5600 with 2*8*2666MB. Help is needed to fix this issue.

They appear to be using dual channel configuration. The display shows 2x64-bit performance. CPU-Z will show real RAM speed, not just effective. Doubling the numbers from CPU-Z gives you 2660. Your CPU-Z window is showing 3200 threads at 1600 MHz.

It would make sense to use "dual" in that context. I'm familiar with the term, and seeing it consistently helps clarify things. It's also something I've noticed often.

This CPU version supports 2x64-bit architecture. I had to check and make the change myself. The same machine used for my previous screenshot is now running the updated version 2.0.

Alright, understood. No changes planned—still sticking with my dual channel TyVM.

It displays as 2 x 64-bit because the system is configured to handle two 64-bit units, even though it appears as a single 32-bit process.

You installed a fresh Windows version, and XMP is the file format used to store metadata about that installation.

The change to display dual channel as two separate 64-bit buses likely aimed for clarity, though I’m not sure why it was made that way. I considered how a 2x64-bit setup might work and checked your screenshot. It appeared newer than my version, so I updated and got the same result. That’s about all I remember.

Likely adjusted it due to DDR5. Makes sense.
