Yesterday I assembled my initial computer. I purchased two G Skill sniper units with 8GB each at 3200MHz for the build. I understand I’ll need to limit performance to 2660MHz due to an Intel processor. However, CPU-Z shows around 1064MHz and the BIOS lists 2166MHz. Anyone have insight into this discrepancy? My system runs an i5-10500 with a Gigabyte B460M DS3H.
Also, look in the task manager. It shows RAM speed in the Performance section.
reboot your computer and press the 'delete' key repeatedly to access BIOS/UEFI. Locate the XMP setting, typically on the first page, and if missing, search through or consult the manual. Activate XMP, save the configuration, and exit using XMP settings to achieve the intended performance.
