In short, I installed new RAM into my pre-built PC, but it didn’t work. This is unusual for someone who likes tech. What does this mean? Are there ways to fix it, and could it cause problems later?

It's the same DDR5 motherboard and RAM I've used before, but I'm not getting any clicks despite applying a lot of force.

Sure thing, just confirming the details! What exactly are you checking about the specifications?

Sharing the specific motherboard and memory kit would be very useful. Providing clear, sharp images of the RAM installed in the motherboard would greatly assist. Capturing the RAM from a side profile would be especially helpful. Making sure these photos clearly show the RAM setup will make it easier to help. We don’t have access to your build, so we can only offer basic advice like "press harder." Your support is appreciated—thank you! Also, note that some RAM slots use click-style clips on one side, while others have smooth, non-click mechanisms.

The notch is positioned to match the bump in the slot.

Swapping the other RAM in and out, does it produce a click? Or are the securing features not making a sound? Different models employ different types.

The locking systems don’t operate like a standard click mechanism where you push and then secure. Instead, each snap behaves differently, as they’re designed to function in unique ways rather than following a consistent pattern.

The locking systems function smoothly without the need for a click mechanism. Once you push it down, it locks automatically without any manual adjustments. Each snap occurs as intended, ensuring consistent performance.

Sometimes the clicks feel different now. If everything fits properly and you can put it in manually, try starting the system again.

It runs smoothly most of the time, though it can feel a bit choppy at times, like cutting a picture. I’m curious if this issue will become noticeable later on.
