You typically land in silver 3-gold 3 during ranking. Previously competed in diamond seasons 1 and 2, occasionally played with my team in esl. The key was the adjustments in weighted mmr points which caused me to drop to a lower rank each season. In season 1 I reached gold 3, ended up at plat 3 with friends, hit diamond and stayed active. The next day I moved to silver 3, then back to gold 4 before being demoted to bronze 3. Remain a solid skill player and a recognizable name in the old PC NA community. Never played ranked now due to issues with the hit registry and reduced playtime. The big moment was losing Matimio live on his stream—former diamond/plat, no longer ranked.
This season I'm a platinum 3, though I might have been influenced by my friends (lol). Typically, most seasons I earn gold 2 or so. If you're starting off silver, 3 is okay. I believe in my first season I was placed like bronze or something similar.
Played mostly for fun to climb ranks. After reaching Silver 2, I do 3 games each time. Right now I'm in the casual tier and stick to it every day because I really like it.
I've been playing siege since beta. My original username was recognizable until I changed it over 30 times and removed friends, ESL, CCS, ESA, etc. It's a fun experience, competitive, with ranked and comp play.
